Presentation
The academic master’s program in Modeling and Quantitative Methods (PPGMMQ) at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) aims to train and enhance professionals committed to advancing interdisciplinary knowledge. The program is designed to prepare graduates for teaching and research activities to meet the needs of the national university system, as well as for engaging in the job market in companies that require professionals with the profile of PPGMMQ graduates.
The course will expose students to various theoretical and practical aspects of Computing, Statistics, and Mathematics, providing them with broad and qualified knowledge. This will equip them to tackle complex problems using methodologies from these areas. Graduates of the master’s program should be capable of pursuing doctoral studies in these or related fields; they will be prepared to teach undergraduate courses at regional universities and to engage in professional activities that require skills in modeling and solving real-world problems using technical or scientific methods.
We also aim to strengthen connection with regional companies willing to invest in research and development, demonstrating a strong scientific inclination and offering relevant research problems that result in projects and partnerships.
In addition to recruting graduates from undergraduate courses in Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science, PPGMMQ also aims to fully accommodate graduates from related fields (such as Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Science and Technology, among others) who show a clear interest in interdisciplinary training focused on the integration of basic and applied sciences.
