Leandro Chaves Rêgo
Professor Leandro Chaves Rêgo holds a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Laureate) from the Federal University of Pernambuco (1999), a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Pernambuco (2001) and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering – Cornell University (2006). He was Head of the Statistics Department at UFPE between 2010 and 2011. He was Coordinator of Technological Diffusion of the Directorate of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UFPE between 2012 and 2013. He was Vice-Director of the Center for Exact and Natural Sciences at UFPE between 2013 and 2015 and Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Modeling and Quantitative Methods from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) between 2017 and 2021. He is currently Full Professor in the Department of Statistics and Applied Mathematics at UFC and leader of the GEMProM Research Group – Study Group on Probabilistic and Multiagent Models, which is associated with National Institute of Information and Decision Systems (INCT-INSID). His area of expertise is Operational Research, with an emphasis on General Theory and Fundamentals of Probability, Decision Theory, Game Theory and Conflict Analysis. He is Associate Editor of the journal IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems, member of the Technical Committee on Conflict Resolution of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society and Associate Researcher at ICTP in Trieste-Italy for the period 2023-2028.
