PPGMMQ Logo

The Graduate Program in Modeling and Quantitative Methods (PPGMMQ) at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) aims at the training and improvement of professionals committed to the advancement of interdisciplinary knowledge, for performance in teaching, research, and extension, meeting the demands of the national university system, as well as for engagement in the job market in companies that require professionals with the profile of a PPGMMQ graduate.

The course will place the student in contact with different theoretical and practical aspects of Data Science and Operations Research, providing them with broad and qualified knowledge, enabling them to handle complex problems using methodologies from these areas. The graduate will be qualified to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, perform professional activities that require skills in modeling and solving real-world problems using technical or scientific methods, as well as participate in and/or coordinate development, research, and technological innovation projects. Furthermore, the master’s graduate must be prepared to pursue doctoral studies in these or related fields.

We also intend to strengthen ties with regional companies open to investing in research and development, showing a strong scientific inclination and offering relevant research problems that result in projects and partnerships.

In addition to graduates from bachelor’s and teaching degree courses in Mathematics, Statistics, and Data Science, PPGMMQ also seeks to fully serve graduates from related fields (such as engineering, physics, computer science, science and technology, among others) who show a clear interest in interdisciplinary training, focused on the interaction between basic and applied sciences.
